omg a tree frog just crawled across my window.
and then, a moth landed.
and then, the tree frog ATE the moth.
it opened its mouth
and its tongue was red
and it swallowed the moth whole.
omg. amphibians are the best thing EVER.

Be my roommate!!!!!? [Dec. 8th, 2006|11:27 pm]

Yeah - you know you want to! Because I really need one, really soon. I'm getting a house in Clifton, and I want someone to share it with! Hopefully I can share it with YOU! I'm really agreeable and quiet and super easy to live with, I promise. If you live with your parents and just want a break from them for a few months, this is a great opportunity! Maybe your friend needs a new place to live? (Try asking them!) They don't even have to be as cool as me - I'm very flexible. I can get along with almost anyone! Let me know, and hopefully we can move in by the end of the month!!

Oh, this is only for Ohio, by the way. No more New York.. for now.

Breaking News Update! [Dec. 21st, 2005|01:30 pm]
[mood |artisticdrugged]
[music |Shiina Ringo -Yami Ni Furu Ame]

Updating! In honor of my favorite holiday. Here's a bit of local news for you:

And what's going on with me lately? I have just had all four wisdom teeth ripped out of my mouth, which means I get to eat liquified potato soup for three days. Rah! I was expecting it to be some horrifying nightmarish event, but it's not so bad. I just drool blood a lot, and my face looks kinda weird. Novocaine is a bizarre experience though.

Oh! And do you want to see something really pretty?

I love Asia, yay!

A painting! Woo! [Sep. 6th, 2005|11:25 pm]
[mood |okayokay]
[music |PJ Harvey - Meet Ze Monsta]

Nothing exciting has happened to me in the past three weeks that I've been lounging about in lovely Ohio, soo... I will update with the latest painting I've been working on. This is Kyo from Dir en grey. Yes, I know: no one cares about Jrock except me blah blah blah. Sorry. I've been wanting to paint someone with weird makeup for awhile, so Jrock it is! I think this is also the first person I've painted with blonde hair, which was rather difficult. I've never really understood blonde hair. It's almost yellow, but not quite...

I have been rather disappointed with the meme results I've been getting lately (yes! I get that bored in Korea too). I feel like I've been getting a lot that don't represent me well. I like this one though... And it's about Battle Royale, which makes it among the awesomest memes ever.

You've got a bit of a split personality. You have your strong, bitchy side that gets flared up when people push the wrong buttons repeatedly. But you also have your girly, feminine side that wants to be loved and protected. By the right guy. Unfortunately, the guy of your dreams doesn't love you back. But he does think you're the coolest girl in the world! Not quite romantic love, but you do have someone that cares. Continue being true to yourself and make the most of the time you have.

Which Battle Royale character are you? by liz.

[Edit: Because I was too lazy to adjust the clocks on my laptop while traveling abroad, if you want to know the real time that the last three entries were posted, you can add 14 hours to the time displayed.]

Hi kids. I'm still alive, really. I'm in South Korea now, and will be for six more days. It's been quite lovely here. If you're interested in seeing pictures from my travels, I have posted them here. (There aren't many pictures of me because the cheesey smiling tourist look doesn't much suit me. Sorry.)

Oh, and if you're wondering why some images aren't showing up on my LJ, it's because everything on my university-sponsored website was sucked into oblivion somewhere. (I'm still trying to figure out how this happened...) I just hope I didn't lose anything I can't live without. One of these days, when I become really awesome at html (ha ha ha) I will reconstruct my entire website and it will be a lot cooler this time. That day is not today, however, as I must return to studying for my exams.

I'm sure you have all been wondering what wonderful and exciting things have been keeping me from the Internet in the past few months. Well, you're in luck, because I am about to reveal the secrets of my recent whereabouts!

Oh unmotivation... [Apr. 19th, 2005|10:47 pm]
[mood |jubilantjubilant]

Something must be wrong with me, really. I have multiple essays to write and studio projects to be working on this week. Instead of doing this, however, I'm watching television with GM. Right now, we're watching an enlightening program called "Pimp my Ride". I honestly don't remember the last time I consciously sat down and turned on the televestion set. But somehow, I find this show about cars and hip hop culture more intriguing than my midterm paper on feudalism in Japan. Oh! And it's a double episode tonight. I was getting worried - it's 11:58 and the show was just ending. I was afraid I might have to find something else to amuse me.

Heh, you know I'm procrastinating when I can be bothered to update my LJ. But, that's all for now - I'm missing out on the dog show we're watching during the commercial!

Edit: Hm. The clock on my LJ appears to be off by one hour and eleven minutes. It's too bad I don't have the energy to fix it.

University Progress Evaluation 2.0 [Mar. 23rd, 2005|10:41 pm]
[mood |predatoryAn Asian smilie! Awesome.]
[music |Közi - Kakera]

Two quarters of suffering through drawing circles, cubes and still life are over, and we are finally moving on to drawing people. Hurrah! In preparation for this I spent my first weekend of spring break reevaluating my painting technique.
Examples!Collapse )
This project started as an attempt to get my acrylic skills up to the same standards as my oil, but I soon realized that my approach to each medium is so different that this probably is not possible. For one, I seem to have an extreme dislike for mixing up weird color palettes with acrylics - which is one of the defining characteristics of my oil paintings, I think. I almost never use realistic or literal colors with oils. My acrylic paintings also always seem to come out rather cartoonish and I certainly have difficulty achieving the same subtlety of form. I do like it for what it is though, and it certainly is a lot faster than oil painting. I'm not exactly sure how this will fit in with my university's expectations though.

Interesting, though not necessarily what I expected... [Mar. 17th, 2005|12:14 pm]
You scored as agnosticism. You are an agnostic. Though it is generally taken that agnostics neither believe nor disbelieve in God, it is possible to be a theist or atheist in addition to an agnostic. Agnostics don't believe it is possible to prove the existence of God (nor lack thereof).

Agnosticism is a philosophy that God's existence cannot be proven. Some say it is possible to be agnostic and follow a religion; however, one cannot be a devout believer if he or she does not truly believe.
